Richard Madden To Star In Medical Hostage Thriller Series ‘Trauma’ At Paramount+

Deadline · 3 hours ago

Richard Madden has been cast to lead "Trauma" (working title), a new medical hostage thriller series produced for Paramount+ by Lionsgate Television and 42 Management & Production. The show will stream on Paramount+ in most territories but notably not in the UK or Ireland, and marks a co-production arrangement bringing together Prime Video and Paramount+ for distribution.

Madden plays Jim Marchant, a former Royal Marines medic turned A&E doctor, who must fight through a London hospital floor by floor after terrorists seize the building and take the Prime Minister hostage during surgery. The series is created and written by Geoff Bussetil (Slow Horses, Skins) and directed by Daniel Syrkin (Tehran, MobLand), with production from Chrissy Skinns and 42's Chris Kennedy. Madden, Syrkin and 42's Ben Pugh and Ben Cavey are attached as executive producers; Madden is also set to appear in Netflix's upcoming series Trinity.
