Ellar Coltrane, who played Mason Evans Jr. in Richard Linklater's acclaimed film "Boyhood," has largely stepped away from Hollywood and now lives a quiet, remote life. Now 31, Coltrane was cast at a young age for the project, which was filmed over 12 years between 2002 and 2014 and earned widespread critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for its unique long-term storytelling approach.

Coltrane has said he is now "pretty far away from film" and lives "in the middle of nowhere," reflecting a deliberate shift away from the acting career that brought him fame as a teenager.
