HBO has altered the colour grading in footage from its forthcoming Harry Potter television series after fans criticised the original teaser as too dark and desaturated. The updated clips appear to use warmer, brighter lighting, suggesting the studio has responded to concerns that the reboot lacked the visual warmth associated with the 2001 film adaptation.

The revised material was shown in HBO’s “The Best Is Yet to Come” promotional reel before episode seven of House of the Dragon’s third series. Hogwarts, the Great Hall and scenes featuring Harry, Ron and Hermione now show more detail and natural contrast, while Gryffindor’s maroon and gold Quidditch colours are more pronounced; the original teaser was released in March.
