The New York Yankees are a professional baseball team based in New York City and one of the best-known clubs in American sport. They play in Major League Baseball, the top professional competition in the United States and Canada, and have a long history dating back to 1903.
The team has won more World Series championships than any other club, with 27 titles. Its history includes many celebrated players and managers, helping make the Yankees a major cultural as well as sporting name in the US.
Netflix is a global streaming service that has increasingly added live sport and sports-related programmes. Major League Baseball oversees the sport’s top competition, while production companies and writers develop scripted dramas, which tell fictionalised stories rather than simply showing real matches.
