‘The Godfather’ Is Officially Getting a New Sequel More Than 50 Years Later

Collider · 16 hours ago

Random House will publish an authorised new Godfather novel, Connie, in autumn 2027, more than 50 years after the original film’s release. Written by bestselling author Adriana Trigiani and approved by Mario Puzo’s estate, it will shift the focus to Connie Corleone, presenting the first Godfather story from a woman’s perspective.

The book will follow Connie’s transformation from a young woman seeking escape from her family’s criminal world into one of its most politically astute and influential figures. The announcement extends a franchise whose 1972 film adaptation won three Oscars, including Best Picture, and grossed more than $250 million worldwide from an estimated $6 million budget.
