USA Network is developing Sherlock’s Secretary, a mystery procedural inspired by the real practice of answering letters sent to Sherlock Holmes at 221B Baker Street. The series would follow a woman who begins investigating the mysteries in those letters herself, offering a contemporary, cosy spin on the Holmes legacy as interest in new screen adaptations remains strong.

The project comes from Fox Entertainment Studios and is being developed by Andy Berman, known for his work on Psych, marking his return to USA Network after more than a decade. Veteran unscripted producer Bruce Nash originated the idea after learning about the bank employees who replied to correspondence addressed to Holmes; no casting, release date or production timetable has been announced.
