A 56-year-old man, Tony Jones, has died after being injured during a large brawl in Pontnewynydd near Pontypool, Wales. Gwent Police have launched a murder investigation and arrested seven men, who remain in custody, as officers seek to establish what happened.

Mr Jones, who was from Brecon, was taken to hospital following the incident on Thursday evening but later died. Armed police, paramedics and the National Police Air Service attended the scene; those arrested are aged 31, 39, 40, 45, 59, 61 and 73, and police have appealed for witnesses or information.
