Reminiscence, a 2021 sci-fi noir starring Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson that flopped at cinemas, is reportedly gaining a fresh audience years later thanks to streaming. Despite a strong creative pedigree, the film struggled on release, as original science-fiction concepts often do when competing against established franchises, but it is now being rediscovered by viewers drawn to its visual style and mystery plot.

Set in a future Miami partially submerged by rising sea levels, the film follows private investigator Nick Bannister (Jackman), who helps clients relive lost memories and becomes obsessed with a missing client, Mae (Ferguson), while uncovering a violent conspiracy. It also stars Thandiwe Newton, Cliff Curtis, Daniel Wu and Brett Cullen, and was written and directed by Lisa Joy, known for Westworld.
