Phoebe Bridgers has released "Lost Weekend", her first solo album in six years and the follow-up to 2020's acclaimed "Punisher". Variety's review praises the record as a captivating, worth-the-wait return, in which Bridgers moves between dark humour and raw emotion while reflecting on grief and love, most notably the death of her father and her relationship with partner Bo Burnham.

The album, dedicated to her late father, blends gallows humour with heartfelt vulnerability, opening with the track "The Outside", which references his death through a wry vocoder-processed lyric. Songs throughout also allude to "Bobby", understood to represent Burnham. Production credits include Jack Antonoff alongside returning collaborators Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska, with up to 20 musicians featured on some tracks, including a full appearance by the trio Nickel Creek on "Haunted"; despite the dense personnel list, the sound remains slow, quiet and understated rather than overloaded.
