2 Years Later, Tom Hardy’s Sci-Fi Franchise-Ender Is Officially Back on Streaming
Tom Hardy's "Venom: The Last Dance", the third and final film in Sony's live-action Venom trilogy, is set to return to Disney+ from 25 August, two years after its cinematic release. The film had previously been streaming only on Netflix in select regions due to licensing arrangements, unlike its two predecessors, which were already available on Disney+. Its wider release marks the reunion of the complete trilogy on one platform for the first time.
Written and directed by Kelly Marcel, the 110-minute film sees Eddie Brock and Venom pursued by government forces and creatures sent by the villain Knull, with the story spanning Mexico, Las Vegas and Area 51. The cast includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Stephen Graham, Rhys Ifans and Peggy Lu alongside Hardy. The trilogy proved a rare box-office success within Sony's troubled Spider-Man spin-off universe, grossing roughly $1.842 billion combined across its three instalments, and remains the studio's only completed live-action franchise from that stable, which also produced less successful films such as Morbius and Madame Web.
