Israeli drama "Fauda" will return for a fifth season on Netflix on 8 September 2026, with the streamer sharing exclusive first-look images. The new run is set two years after the Hamas-led attack on Israel of 7 October 2023, with creators Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff having scrapped their original scripts to rework the season around that event, following protagonist Doron Kavillio and fellow fighters as they race to stop a catastrophic new attack while confronting the toll of prolonged conflict.

The eleven-episode season was filmed across Israel and Hungary and features new cast members Melanie Laurent and Hakim Djaziri alongside returning stars Yaakov Zada Daniel and Doron Ben-David. Omri Givon directs, with Issacharoff and Raz among the writing team; the show is commissioned by Israeli broadcaster Yes and distributed internationally via Yes Studios, before landing globally on Netflix, which has acquired every season to date. Co-creator Issacharoff said the season poses tough questions about revenge and the "endless cycle of bloodshed," stressing the drama is fictional rather than a depiction of reality.
