Composer Kris Bowers has been enlisted to score Netflix's upcoming animated comedy "Steps," with the score recorded at London's Abbey Road Studios in July and August. The film, due for release on 20 November, holds particular significance as it is the first feature to be fully animated in-house at Netflix Animation Studios.

Directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, "Steps" reimagines Cinderella's stepsisters, following Lilith (voiced by Ali Wong) as she teams up with Cinderella (Amanda Seyfried) after being wrongly blamed for chaos at the Royal Ball. The starry voice cast also includes Stephanie Hsu, Bette Midler, Daniel Radcliffe, Young Mazino and Peter Dinklage. Both Bowers and Tzue spoke warmly of their collaboration, with Tzue praising the composer's ability to translate the characters' emotions into music.
