A trailer and theatrical release date have been unveiled for "Josephine," writer-director Beth de Araújo's drama starring Channing Tatum and Gemma Chan, which won both the Grand Jury Award and Audience Award at Sundance in January. The film follows eight-year-old Josephine, who witnesses a crime in Golden Gate Park and begins acting out violently, straining her parents' relationship as they seek justice and a sense of safety. Its rare double Sundance win has generated significant awards-season attention, echoing the trajectories of past Oscar contenders CODA and Minari.

Sumerian Pictures, led by Ash Avildsen, acquired US rights to the film for a mid-seven-figure sum in February amid competitive bidding. "Josephine" will open in limited theatrical release on 20 November before expanding nationwide on 4 December, timed to land within the awards-season window.
