‘Reacher’ Season 4 Is Officially Bringing Back a Character You Never Even Knew Existed [Exclusive]

Collider ·

Ahead of Reacher Season 4's premiere, production designer Nazgol Goshtasbpour has revealed that the show has quietly built a recurring off-screen character called Trish across all four seasons, hidden in the set dressing of workstations belonging to Alan Ritchson's protagonist and his allies. Though Trish has never appeared on screen, the production team invented a backstory for her purely to make the show's environments feel more lived-in, and have consistently developed her presence through visual clues in each season's sets.

The idea began in Season 2, when the crew imagined Trish as a fun-loving, happy-hour-going character and decorated her desk with a leopard print jacket, high heels and a wine bottle. Season 3 placed similar touches in Frances Neagley's private investigator office, hinting at a connection between the two characters, and Season 4 gives Trish a desk in a chemical plant, tying into the high-stakes plot of the Lee Child novel Gone Tomorrow. Goshtasbpour suggested this ongoing thread could eventually see Trish appear on screen in a future season.

  • Reacher's set designers invented an unseen recurring character named Trish.
  • Her workstation has appeared, with clues, in every season since Season 2.
  • Producers hint Trish could eventually appear on screen in future seasons.
