Indian Freedom Fighter Bhagat Singh Series in Development at Collective Studios’ Historyverse (EXCLUSIVE)
Collective Studios’ Historyverse is developing an original drama series about Indian freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. The project aims to explore his childhood, intellectual formation and the political and social influences behind his revolutionary beliefs, rather than retelling only the most familiar moments of his life; it matters because it seeks a fresh portrayal of one of India’s most enduring historical figures.
The series is being made with Hathiramani Commercial Ventures and co-produced by investor Manish Hathiramani, in his producing debut. Its title, cast and further production details have not yet been announced. Bhagat Singh has previously been depicted in at least five Indian feature films, while Historyverse is also developing projects focused on figures including Shivaji and Swami Samarth.

Bhagat Singh was a prominent Indian independence activist during British rule in India. Born in Punjab in 1907, he became involved in revolutionary politics as a young man and argued that ending colonial rule required more than constitutional reform.
He is best known for actions linked to the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association, including the 1929 bombing of the Central Legislative Assembly in Delhi, intended as a protest rather than an attack on people. He was arrested, tried in connection with the killing of a British police officer, and executed in 1931 at the age of 23.
Singh’s writings and political ideas have remained influential in India, where he is widely remembered as a martyr of the independence movement. Accounts of his life often focus on his final years, while historians also examine the family, education and political debates that shaped his views.
