Welsh Fire’s men’s and women’s teams have both missed out on The Hundred’s 2026 knockout stages, extending the Cardiff franchise’s wait for a first title. Although both sides improved on last season’s bottom-place finishes, the women finished fifth and the men again failed to reach the play-offs, leaving the club to reassess ahead of next year.

The women ended their campaign with a 15-run victory over London Spirit at Sophia Gardens, led by stand-in captain Georgia Wareham’s 50 from 34 balls and Grace Potts’ three wickets. Early defeats and the loss of captain Sophie Devine damaged their qualification chances, despite winning three of their final four matches; the men, meanwhile, lost to Spirit by six runs after failing to chase 132, with poor net run-rate also counting against them.
