Peter Capaldi has joined the sixth season of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building as a recurring guest star. The London-set season brings the comedy mystery outside the United States for the first time, with its central trio leaving New York to investigate a new case; Capaldi’s casting also strengthens the season’s notable connection to Doctor Who.

Capaldi, who played the Twelfth Doctor, joins former Doctors Jodie Whittaker and David Tennant, while Jim Broadbent previously played an alternate Eleventh Doctor in a Comic Relief special. Production is continuing in the UK, and the returning leads are Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez; other announced recurring guests include Nicola Coughlan, Richard Ayoade, Jennifer Saunders, Martin Freeman and Sharon Horgan.
