Los Angeles-via-Boston emo band Townies have released a new song, “Wednesday”, responding playfully to Wednesday’s acclaimed 2025 track “Townies”. The release fulfils Townies’ earlier social-media promise and extends a tongue-in-cheek exchange between the two similarly named acts.

Released on Wednesday, 12 August, “Wednesday” is described as a high-energy emo anthem centred on emotional turmoil and exaggerated imagery. It was recorded with producer Billy Mannino, known for work with Oso Oso and Macseal, and arrives with a music video directed by Zach Miller.
