Google’s best new camera feature is only for the Pixel 11 series
Google has introduced Camera Looks, a new Pixel 11 camera feature that applies image processing at the sensor level to create less conventionally “smartphone-like” photographs. It matters because the feature is being positioned as one of the new phones’ most distinctive camera tools, but is currently unavailable to owners of older Pixel devices.
One example, the “Digi” look, is designed to resemble images from older digital cameras. Google said its latest camera updates are exclusive to its newest devices for now, while leaving open the possibility of wider availability later without committing to a timetable.
- Camera Looks is initially exclusive to Pixel 11 phones.
- It creates stylised images through sensor-level processing.
- Google has not promised an older-Pixel rollout.
