Amélie Hoeferle on Sisterhood, ‘Sterling Point’ and How She Found Her Love for Acting
Amélie Hoeferle discusses her role as Ramona in Prime Video’s coming-of-age drama Sterling Point, which premiered on 5 August. She says the series’ central relationship between Ramona and Annie, played by Ella Rubin, matters because it explores the intense and complicated bond formed when two young women discover they are sisters without having grown up together.
Hoeferle, 24, says her route into acting began at 14 when writer-director Erica Scoggins approached her in a Tennessee coffee shop after imagining her for a screenplay character. They later made a short film, travelled to festivals including in France, and Scoggins helped her see acting as a viable career; Hoeferle also drew on her close relationship with her own sister when portraying Ramona.
