Disney has unveiled its first official footage from the live-action remake of Tangled at the D23 Expo, introducing Teagan Croft as Rapunzel, Milo Manheim as Flynn, and Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel. The project continues Disney’s strategy of remaking animated successes in live action, with its reception likely to be compared with the studio’s recent remake performances.

The original 2010 film reworked the Rapunzel fairy tale and helped launch a successful modern period for Disney animation. Its story follows Rapunzel, who escapes her isolated tower with the thief Flynn and discovers why Mother Gothel has kept her there; the remake is scheduled for a cinema release on 31 March 2028.
