Disney has previewed Frozen 3 at its D23 event, confirming that the story will focus on Anna’s wedding to Kristoff while taking Anna and Elsa beyond Arendelle on what the cast described as their biggest journey yet. The announcement matters because it marks the return of one of Disney’s most successful modern animated franchises after an eight-year gap.

The presentation featured Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell and Josh Gad, with Gad revealing that Olaf will have a snowwoman love interest named Samantha and performing a new song about her. Frozen 3 is due in cinemas on 24 November 2027; Disney is also reported to have made a fourth film alongside it, although no release date has been announced.
