Family stranded at sea for 16 hours after jet ski capsized in Thailand
A French father and his two young sons were rescued after spending more than 16 hours adrift at sea when their rented jet ski capsized off Koh Samui, Thailand. The incident highlights the risks of water-based tourist activities in rough conditions and prompted an overnight search after the vehicle was not returned.
The 50-year-old man had hired the jet ski for 45 minutes on Thursday evening with his sons, aged five and seven. He said rough waves stopped the engine near the end of the rental, and rescuers found them at about 10:00 local time on Friday; all three were checked at hospital and discharged shortly afterwards.
