Former Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway Fiddler Bronwyn Talks Songwriting On New Album For the First Time: ‘I Need a Catalog That Is Mine’
Bronwyn, an award-winning bluegrass fiddler who earned a Grammy in 2023 with Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, has entered a new creative phase following that band's amicable dissolution. Her latest album 'Rattlin' Bones,' released in August 2025, represents a significant departure from her prior work—moving beyond her reputation for instrumental virtuosity and recent venture into lead vocals.
The album marks Bronwyn's first substantial foray into songwriting, blending multiple genres whilst collaborating with established songwriters Melody Walker and Pat McLaughlin. She explained that pursuing a solo career prompted her to seek original material, observing that most artists she admired wrote at least some of their own songs. Through co-writing, she discovered validation and encouragement for her musical ideas, eventually crafting six tracks with McLaughlin alone whilst developing a distinctive songwriting voice that reflects her artistic taste and sensibilities.
