Netflix has confirmed that its Florence Pugh-led limited series East of Eden will premiere on 1 October 2026, nearly four years after the adaptation was first announced. The streamer also released a set of first-look photos alongside the release date, offering an early glimpse of the cast in character ahead of the show's launch.

The series, adapted by Zoe Kazan from John Steinbeck's 1952 novel, reimagines the multigenerational Trask family saga with particular focus on antihero Cathy Ames, played by Pugh, who also executive produces. The cast includes Christopher Abbott, Tracy Letts, Martha Plimpton, Ciarán Hinds, Joseph Zada, Joe Anders, Mike Faist and Hoon Lee, with Kazan co-showrunning alongside Jeb Stuart. Filmed in New Zealand and produced by Fifth Season and Anonymous Content, it follows a 1955 film version directed by Kazan's grandfather, Elia Kazan, with episodes split between directors Garth Davis and Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre.
