The Grand Ole Opry House will host a celebration of Ray Stevens' musical legacy on November 9, bringing together numerous country music performers to pay tribute to the Hall of Famer. The event, titled "Don't Look, Ethel! A Salute to the Musical Genius of Ray Stevens," will feature a roster of country musicians performing his work, with comedian Cledus T. Judd hosting. Special appearances from Randy Travis and remarks from industry figures including Nancy Jones and wrestling personalities will round out the evening.

Stevens built his career on infectious novelty records that achieved pop crossover success, particularly during the 1960s and 1970s with tracks such as "Gitarzan" and "The Streak," whilst also establishing himself as a prolific Nashville studio musician and songwriter. His behind-the-scenes work included studio sessions with Elvis Presley and songwriting credits for Dolly Parton, earning him two Grammy Awards and induction into multiple halls of fame. The performer later diversified into entertainment ventures, establishing a theatre in Missouri and producing a long-running television variety programme.
