Madonna leads the nominations for the MTV VMAs 2026 with 11 nods, including Video Of The Year for her "Confessions II – The Film". The ceremony, taking place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on 27 September, will be broadcast live on CBS, MTV and Paramount+, with fan voting now open.

Madonna's nominations span Artist Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Collaboration for "Bring Your Love" with Sabrina Carpenter, plus several craft categories for her film. Taylor Swift follows closely with nine nominations, including Artist Of The Year and Video Of The Year for "The Fate Of Ophelia"; a single win would make her the VMAs' most-awarded artist ever, surpassing her current tie with Beyoncé at 30 wins each. Other Artist Of The Year contenders include Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Morgan Wallen and Sabrina Carpenter, while BTS, Charli XCX, Harry Styles, Olivia Dean and Raye also feature across various categories.
