Tom Holland set to earn $100m from Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Tom Holland is reportedly set to earn at least $100m (£75m) for starring in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, according to sources cited by the Wrap, as the film's blockbuster box-office performance triggers substantial bonus payments. The huge payday marks a dramatic escalation from his earlier fees in the role and comes amid a broader slump in superhero and Marvel film revenues, making the film's commercial success particularly notable for the studio and the genre.
The British actor was reportedly paid $20m (£15m) upfront, roughly double his fee for 2021's No Way Home, with the remaining $80m-plus expected from backend bonuses tied to the film's performance. In just its third week of release, Brand New Day has passed $2bn in global ticket sales, making it the eighth highest-grossing film ever and the second-fastest to reach that milestone after Avengers: Endgame. Holland's pay has risen sharply since his $250,000 fee for Captain America: Civil War in 2016, through $500,000 for Homecoming, $4m for Far From Home and $10m for No Way Home, reflecting a newly negotiated contract. The success also caps a big year for Holland, who also starred in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and married his co-star Zendaya.
