Journey Legend Teases Possible Reunion for Band’s Hometown Farewell Finale

American Songwriter · 4 hours ago

Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain has hinted that former frontman Steve Perry could make an appearance at the band's farewell tour finale in their hometown of San Francisco, though nothing has been confirmed. The comments extend months of speculation about a possible reunion, adding an extra layer of anticipation to what is already being framed as a significant, emotional milestone for the band as they wrap up their touring career.

The Final Frontier Tour will conclude on 28 November after 100 shows, with the closing concert held in San Francisco, where Journey was formed. Cain said "there might be a reunion of sorts", though guitarist Neal Schon's earlier claim in February that Perry had been personally invited was followed by a statement from Perry denying he intended to rejoin the band. Schon, meanwhile, said he is looking forward to an emotionally charged homecoming show, while both he and Cain remained non-committal about whether Journey would continue touring beyond this run.
