Jellyfish mesmerise in their own museum in Florida
A new museum in Pompano Beach, Florida, is believed to be the first in the United States dedicated entirely to jellyfish, showcasing the ancient sea creatures in a purpose-built, neon-lit setting. Jellyfish have existed in the world's oceans for more than 500 million years, predating both dinosaurs and trees, making the museum a striking way to highlight their evolutionary significance alongside their visual appeal.
The nearly 10,000-square-foot (about 900 square metre) facility features roughly 20 different jellyfish species across 21 display tanks. It was established by a team of Ukrainian aquarium developers, giving visitors the chance to observe the creatures' mesmerising movements up close.
