Foo Fighters Hopping Off Headlining Tour to Fill In For Pretty Reckless at AC/DC’s St. Louis Gig: ‘This Is Literally a Dream Come True’
Foo Fighters will step in as a special guest at AC/DC's upcoming St. Louis stadium show, taking the slot originally filled by opening act The Pretty Reckless. The one-off appearance, announced on 20 August, fulfils a lifelong ambition for frontman Dave Grohl, who has long cited AC/DC as a formative influence on his approach to performing.
The show takes place on 8 September at The Dome at America's Center, a 67,000-capacity venue, with the Foo Fighters slotting in straight after wrapping their own run of North American stadium dates on the Take Cover tour. It is not yet clear why The Pretty Reckless, fronted by Taylor Momsen, will not be performing their previously scheduled opening slot, as a representative for the band had not responded to enquiries at the time of publication. In an extensive Instagram post, Grohl described being transformed as an 11-year-old by AC/DC's 1980 concert film Let There Be Rock, crediting it with shaping his relentless onstage energy ever since.
