Norwegian progressive metal band Enslaved have announced their new album, Mið, due for release through Nuclear Blast Records on 30 October. Alongside the announcement, the group have shared a video for the album's new single, Solar Will, featuring a guest appearance from Sami musician Johan Sara Jr. The release marks the band's latest work as long-running figureheads of the prog metal scene, continuing their exploration of Norse mythology and history through music.

Mið, an Old Norse word meaning "centre" or "middle", explores harmonies and dialogues between the past and present, according to the band. Guitarist and founding member Ivar Bjørnson described the album as inspired by ancient sun worship, saying the sun's dual nature as both nurturing and destructive demanded "classic and awesome riffs" and "Bonham-esque drum grooves" to match its mythic significance.
