Teyonah Parris is set to join "Running", the upcoming Apple Original Films drama directed by Gavin O'Connor, adding to a cast that already includes Spike Fearn, Brian Tyree Henry and Rhea Seehorn. The film centres on a homeless high school running prodigy striving for greatness while trying to outrun his past and find a family, and represents Parris's second collaboration with Apple following her role in the forthcoming "Matchbox the Movie".

The "Running" script was written by Bill Dubuque, based on a story he developed with O'Connor, and the film is a co-production between Makeready and Waffle Iron Entertainment. Parris will also appear opposite John Cena and Jessica Biel in Apple's "Matchbox the Movie", due for release on 9 October, and her recent credits include Netflix's "They Cloned Tyrone" alongside John Boyega and Jamie Foxx, as well as playing Monica Rambeau in "WandaVision" and "The Marvels".
