Ex-SLAYER Drummer DAVE LOMBARDO Collaborates With Film Composer/Producer TYLER BATES And British Synth-Wave Band GUNSHIP
Film composer and producer Tyler Bates has released a new single, "Revolution.exe", in collaboration with British synth-wave band GUNSHIP and drummer Dave Lombardo, best known for his work with SLAYER, MR. BUNGLE and MISFITS. The politically charged track, which addresses themes of power, control and complacency, marks the launch of Bates's newly established label, Gravel And Echo Recordings, and signals further solo material and production work to come from him.
The song was written and produced remotely across time zones by Bates and GUNSHIP, mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Robert Carranza and mastered by Abbey Road Studios engineer Stefan Brown. Bates said the collaboration builds on an earlier link-up with GUNSHIP on "Berserker" for the "Dark Nights Death Metal" album, praising Lombardo's drumming on the new track. Bates is renowned for scoring blockbusters including "John Wick", "Atomic Blonde" and "Guardians Of The Galaxy", and has also produced albums for Marilyn Manson, while Lombardo, a co-founder of SLAYER in 1981, left the band in 2013 following a contract dispute and has since worked with numerous other acts including DEAD CROSS and FANTÔMAS.
