Possessed frontman Jeff Becerra has said he hopes to release a new album every year from now on, once the band's forthcoming follow-up to 2019's "Revelations Of Oblivion" is finished. Speaking on the Laughing Monkey With Shawn Ratches podcast, he explained that having refined his recording process, he no longer wants to endure the lengthy, costly gaps between releases that saw 33 years pass before "Revelations Of Oblivion" appeared.

Becerra revealed all ten songs for the new record have been recorded as scratch tracks, with instruments and vocals still to be re-recorded properly, and that he hopes to return to the studio again next September and the one after that. He also discussed his songwriting approach, saying he simply writes what he feels and credits his distinctive style, comparing it to how instantly recognisable artists like Motörhead's Lemmy or King Diamond are. Bandmates Robert Cardenas, Daniel Gonzalez, Claudeous Creamer and Chris Aguirre are recording their parts remotely before the group convenes in a studio, with Becerra thanking fans for their patience after almost seven years since the last album.
