"Acapulco," which led nominations with 13, picked up prizes for director Oscar Almengor, lead actor Enrique Arrizon (tied with "Twisted Metal's" Stephanie Beatriz), supporting actor Eugenio Derbez, supporting actress Vanesa Bauche, and Best Music Supervision, alongside a Creative Achievement Award for the show and Apple TV. Acapulco is a comedy on Apple TV+, set partly in the 1980s at a Mexican beach resort, that has just wrapped up with its final season. The Imagen Awards are an annual US ceremony, now in its 41st year, that celebrates Latino actors, writers, directors and other creative talent working in film, television, digital media and music.

The awards cover a wide range of categories, from best film and top drama and comedy series to individual honours for acting, directing and other creative work, alongside special recognitions such as a Lifetime Achievement Award and a President's Award for contributions beyond entertainment. This year's ceremony brought together television shows, a feature film, and individuals from both the entertainment industry and public life.

The event matters because it highlights Latino representation and achievement in American media, an industry where such recognition has historically been limited, while also serving as a marker of which shows and performers the Latino creative community and its peers consider standout work for the year.
