Courtney Love has posted a cover of Addison Rae's "Diet Pepsi" on Instagram, reworking the pop hit into a more subdued, mellow rendition that she described as the "saddest song". The Hole frontwoman's tribute continues a run of cross-generational pop moments, coming shortly after Slayyyter covered Hole's 1994 track "Violet" on triple J's Like A Version, which Love praised as "delightful".

Rae's debut album "Addison" was released in 2025 to strong acclaim, earning a four-star NME review and placing second on the outlet's 50 Best Albums of the Year list, while her single "Headphones On" ranked eighth on its 50 Best Songs list. Love, meanwhile, is preparing her second solo album, the follow-up to 2004's "America's Sweetheart", featuring contributions from Echo & The Bunnymen guitarist Will Sergeant and former Hole bandmate Melissa Auf Der Maur, alongside a long-delayed memoir reportedly due before Christmas this year.
