Eddie Money Was Disappointed About This One Kenny Loggins Hit
Eddie Money said he resented Kenny Loggins because he believed his backing vocals on Loggins’s 1980 hit “I’m Alright” were never properly credited. The song became Loggins’s second Top 10 single and helped establish him as a major contributor to film soundtracks, making Money’s allegation a dispute over recognition on a significant recording.
“I’m Alright”, written solely by Loggins for the comedy film Caddyshack, earned him a Grammy nomination and became one of his best-known songs. Loggins said his involvement followed a request from producer Jon Peters after they had worked together on A Star Is Born; he later wrote songs for films including Footloose and Top Gun, with “Footloose” becoming his first US number one in 1984.
