‘No button to press’ – Glasner and Forest must find stability
Oliver Glasner’s first Premier League match as Nottingham Forest manager ended in a frustrating late defeat to Leeds, underlining the scale of the stabilising job ahead after the club used four managers last season. Forest created the better chances and showed early signs of Glasner’s preferred structure, but Anton Stach’s free-kick beat Matz Sels with two minutes remaining to give Leeds victory.
Glasner stressed that there is “no button to press” and said the team needs time, confidence and improved fitness after injuries to players including Murillo and Chris Wood. Forest started without any new signings, have lost Elliot Anderson to Manchester City for £116m, and are seeking two or three targeted additions, with Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall among their reported interests.
