Beauty Queen dodges jail for attacking woman with red stiletto week after competing in Miss GB final

Daily Mail · 4 hours ago

A former Miss Lancashire, Taylor Gidley, has been given a suspended prison sentence after attacking a woman with a stiletto shoe outside a hunt ball, just days after she had competed in the Miss Great Britain final. Gidley, now 24, struck the victim in the face with her red shoe during an argument over a taxi outside Owd Nell's Tavern in Bilsborrow, near Preston, in October 2024, leaving her with a facial scar and continuing to hit her as she lay dazed on the ground.

Preston Crown Court heard Gidley became angered after the victim asked a man she knew about sharing a taxi amid a shortage of cabs at the rural venue. The victim required hospital treatment for a 2cm jagged cut consistent with being struck by a small object, and said in a statement that the incident had left her anxious and self-conscious. Gidley, who works in the equine industry, pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and was sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended, alongside 120 hours of community service, with the judge attributing her "wholly unjustified" anger partly to alcohol but accepting the attack was out of character.
