Locator: The Search for Abigail Lidari is an upcoming Steam game from developer Empty Exhibit that blends the location-guessing appeal of Geoguessr with detective-style puzzle solving, transplanted onto a fictional alien planet. Players must pinpoint exactly where a lost astronaut, Abigail Lidari, took a series of photographs during her exploration of the world, using visual clues in the images alongside her written notes. It stands out because, unlike Geoguessr, players have no prior familiarity with the terrain, forcing them to rely entirely on deduction from an unusually detailed in-game map and cross-referencing between photos.

The demo, played remotely ahead of Gamescom, tasks players with using clues such as star constellations (split into northern and southern hemisphere notes) and the sailing routes of a vanished alien race called the Farran to triangulate locations. Correctly placing three pins in a row unlocks further photos and clues, while an incorrect guess only becomes apparent once three pins have been set, alongside an available hint system for those who get stuck. Beyond the puzzle mechanics, the game features a broader sci-fi narrative involving black holes and the mystery of the Farran's disappearance, and is described as a calm, cerebral experience rather than an intense one.
