Acid Bath Bring Their Sludge to New York City with Support from Obituary: Photos + Setlists

Consequence · 3 hours ago

Louisiana sludge metal band Acid Bath played an outdoor show at Pier 17 in New York City on Friday 21 August, supported by death metal veterans Obituary, as part of their ongoing reunion tour. It was the band's third New York appearance since reuniting in 2025, marking a return to the stage after nearly three decades following their original split in 1997, and one of few recent shows to avoid the wet weather that has plagued outdoor gigs in the city.

Acid Bath played a 10-song set opening with "Tranquilized" and closing with "The Blue", drawing entirely from their two studio albums, 1994's When the Kite String Pops and 1996's Paegan Terrorism Tactics. Obituary opened with a 12-song set spanning their 40-plus-year career. Acid Bath's tour continues with US dates from September to December, including shows alongside Ministry and Neurosis, taking in cities such as Asheville, Chicago and Nashville.
