Carina Walker Named Head of YA at Amazon MGM Studios
Amazon MGM Studios has appointed Carina Walker as head of young-adult programming, completing television chief Peter Friedlander’s newly structured creative leadership team. The role gives Walker responsibility for a growing part of the studio’s Prime Video output, as it looks to develop YA series and adapt popular BookTok intellectual property.
Walker succeeds Jen Chambers, who left during a July reorganisation of Friedlander’s executive team. She has spent a combined 9.5 years at Amazon, most recently as a senior drama development executive, and previously worked on international content at Apple TV; her credits include work on Off Campus, Every Year After and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Her fellow genre leads include Kara Smith for drama, Blair Fetter for science fiction and fantasy, Andy Weil for comedy, Jenn Levy for nonfiction and Melissa Wolfe for animation.
