Peacock has renewed Love Island USA for a ninth series, with Ariana Madix returning as host. The decision strengthens Peacock’s commitment to the franchise after the latest series performed strongly over the summer and drew a sizeable number of new viewers.

Series 8 was won by Trinity Celeste Tatum and Bryce Alakai Dettloff, who shared the $100,000 prize. Peacock says its premiere recorded more than 19 billion minutes watched and that 35% of viewers were new to the programme; a reunion hosted by Madix and Andy Cohen will stream on 31 August, while Love Island Games and Beyond the Villa have also been renewed.
