Jack Osbourne says the script for a Sony-backed biopic about his father, Ozzy Osbourne, has been completed and the family is now approaching directors. He stressed that the film should be accessible and fan-focused rather than an “artsy” or overly abstract portrayal, reflecting the family’s aim to preserve the Black Sabbath singer’s legacy after his death.

Jack said discussions have taken place with a potential actor to play Ozzy, though he did not name them. Sony Pictures and Polygram Entertainment first announced the project in 2021, with Lee Hall attached as writer; it is also expected to cover Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s relationship. Ozzy Osbourne died aged 76 in July 2025 after living with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease.
