Mubi has secured international streaming rights to *JAŸ-Z In 8*, an eight-part documentary series in which Jay-Z discusses his career and creative process with producer and director Rick Rubin. The series matters as a rare, extended look at Jay-Z’s songwriting and personal influences, while also marking Rubin’s documentary-directing debut.

The first two episodes will arrive on Mubi on Saturday 19 September, followed by two episodes each Saturday until the final instalments on 10 October; this follows the US HBO release by one day. Filmed over two days in Paris and shot by Bradford Young, the series traces Jay-Z’s lyrics from his childhood through his expanding career; it follows his recent anniversary concerts for *Reasonable Doubt* and *The Blueprint*, with Paris and London stadium dates also planned.
