ABC’s ‘High Potential’ Replacement Officially Sets Release Date

Collider · 4 hours ago

ABC has set the second season of crime drama R.J. Decker to premiere on Tuesday 15 September, positioning it as an early autumn replacement while High Potential is held back until mid-season. The show’s return matters because it will help fill the gap left by one of ABC’s strongest recent ratings performers and continue its unresolved central mystery.

Scott Speedman returns as R.J. Decker, a former newspaper photographer and wrongly convicted ex-prisoner who becomes a private investigator in South Florida; Jaina Lee Ortiz, Bevin Bru, Kevin Rankin and Adelaide Clemens also return. The first season debuted to more than 11 million views across Disney platforms and ended with evidence clearing R.J. implicating Victor Ochoa, only for Victor to be found dead shortly afterwards, setting up a new case.

  • R.J. Decker returns to ABC on 15 September.
  • It fills an autumn gap before High Potential returns.
  • Season two follows Victor Ochoa’s unexplained death.
