In This Moment guitarist Chris Howorth says the band’s forthcoming ninth album, ‘Witch’, changed significantly during production after they felt their initial material had become overly experimental and difficult to listen to. The group recorded 12 songs with producer Kane Churko, then revisited some tracks and added three new ones with Drew Fulk to find a better balance between heaviness, experimentation and musicality.

Due for release on 28 August via Better Noise Music, ‘Witch’ is In This Moment’s first album for the label and is described by Howorth as a bold new phase for the band. Its first singles, ‘Heretic’, ‘Sleeping With The Enemy’ and ‘Crawl’, reflect its heavier side, while ‘I Want To Believe’, featuring Dayseeker’s Rory Rodriguez, will be more melodic; guests also include Kim Dracula and Kat Von D.
