Callaway drops golf brand over sexist video row

BBC Sport · 7 hours ago

Callaway has ended its partnership with golf content creator Good Good immediately after an advert showed a woman being pushed to the ground for reaching towards a golf club. The video prompted widespread criticism for appearing to trivialise violence against women, leading both firms to remove it and apologise; Good Good has also withdrawn its sponsorship of a PGA Tour event.

The advert showed Good Good co-founder Garrett Clark pushing professional golfer Alexis Miestowski to the ground before shouting about his new driver. Callaway said its review process had been inadequate, pledged $1m (£735,725) to organisations preventing violence against women and supporting victims, and said it had taken internal corrective action. Good Good, which has 2.13 million YouTube subscribers and had worked with Callaway since 2023, said it would seek to regain the PGA Tour’s trust.
