Variety · 10 hours ago

The SCAD Savannah Film Festival will return for its 29th year from 24 to 31 October, offering eight days of screenings, competitions, discussions and workshops in Savannah, Georgia. The university-led event matters as a major meeting point for students and film professionals, while also providing a prominent showcase for awards-season films and emerging talent.

Variety will again host its “Artisans to Watch” and “Pixels and Pencils” programmes, alongside returning events from The Hollywood Reporter, Entertainment Weekly and Deadline. The festival attracts more than 74,000 attendees; last year it screened 26 Oscar-nominated films, including eight Best Picture nominees, and more than 200 SCAD alumni worked on 21 Oscar-nominated films. Passes for 2026 are already available, with individual tickets due to go on sale on 2 October.
